Leadership

Imagining America’s leadership includes its national advisory board; staff; and national and regional partnerships with organizations, foundations, and peer organizations.

Senior IA staff members have dual roles at Imagining America and  Syracuse University. The IA office is housed in SU’s historic Tolley humanities building.

Board members play an advisory role in shaping the policies and affairs of the consortium and carrying out the purposes of the organization. Additionally, board members add broad constituent perspectives to the decision-making process of the director and staff. Board members serve for three-year terms, renewable once. We aim for the composition of the board to reflect the diversity, national character, and interdisciplinary scope of Imagining America, including grassroots artists and leaders from state arts and humanities councils, nonprofit cultural organizations, and public cultural institutions like museums, schools, and libraries.
