Featured Program
Collaborative Learning
Northwood High School and the University of Maryland are working together to create a collaborative learning community of students, faculty, staff, parents, businesses, and community organizations who together will create an “Early College High School” model. This “Early High School” will promote cooperation among high school and faculty, increase the academic aspirations of high school, and prepare high school graduates to continue on to college graduation through fulfilled credits and entrance at an advanced level. The collaboration will also provide opportunities for college students to put theory into practice and opportunities for leadership and success in post-graduate education and the work force.
Students at Northwood may choose one of four Academies that offer rigorous instruction with intensive enrichment and support: Environmental Science, Political Science and Public Advocacy, Humanities and Film, and the Gilder Lehrman Academy of American History.
