Diane Romo is a first-generation Xicanx doctoral student in Cultural Foundations of Education at Syracuse University. They received their Bachelors at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Chicana and Chicano Studies and received their MS in Cultural Foundations of Education. As a doctoral student and Co- Director for PAGE (Imagining America’s Publicly Active Graduate Education program) they continue to highlight the benefits of hip-hop and Intergroup Dialogue as a pedagogical tool to promote critical consciousness and student learning through high school-university partnership programs between Syracuse University’s IGD and Syracuse City School District.
