Juliet Feibel is associate director of Imagining America. After an undergraduate degree in art history from Northwestern University, Dr. Feibel earned her masters and doctoral degrees in English Literature from the University of Michigan. Her scholarly publications focus on the use of historical painting and historiography during the eighteenth century to form a British national identity. During her undergraduate and graduate career, she worked with multiple arts and humanities organizations, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and the Year of the Humanities and Arts at Michigan. As Education Director for the Ann Arbor Art Center in the late 1990s, she oversaw visual arts curricula for youth and adults and collaborations with other community organizations. During a three-year residence in Southeast Asia, she worked as a handicraft and income-generation consultant for non-governmental organizations in Vietnam, and with human rights and environmental organizations in northern Thailand. Ms. Feibel is married to Ken MacLean and has a young son and infant daughter.
