Invitations to Dialogue | PAGE Curatorial Initiative
By Imagining America | June 20, 2016
The PAGE leadership at Imagining America (IA) announces a call for submissions for “Invitations to Dialogue,” a new curatorial initiative that aims to provide a deeper understanding of PAGE’s impact from its inception in 2003 to present through the reflective process of letter writing. In words or through images and words, the curators invite the PAGE community to write an open letter about love and agency in public scholarship; to express what it means to practice as a public scholar or pedagogue; to articulate hopes and dreams for socially inclusive futures through publicly engaged work; or to share stories of negotiating your positionality and power as engaged intellectuals in collaborative spaces. The curators invite PAGE fellows to write open letters and postcards to the heads of your departments or programs; to IA and the next host partner institution; to community partners and cultural organizations; and to peers with whom to continue to structure equity and inclusion in higher education and civic life. The “Invitations to Dialogue” project will culminate in an interactive and thematic exhibit at IA’s 16th Annual National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 6-8, 2016.
For detailed information about the project and instructions on how to submit, please visit: http://invitationstodialogue.tumblr.com/.
All letters and postcards must be received by June 30, 2016.
