Organizing Culture Change: an Imagining America Member Workshop

Wednesday, March 20, 2024

12:00 – 1:30pm PT / 2:00-3:30pm CT / 3:00-4:30pm ET

This members-only* workshop, facilitated by IA Membership Director Troy Nichols and Faculty Director Erica Kohl-Arenas, will provide a unique opportunity for members of the Imagining America national consortium to play with and learn together from the newest IA tools: the Public Scholar Conversation Cards and the Public Scholar Imagination Guide.

The card deck encourages public scholars to consider why their work matters and how it challenges academic culture and produces critical knowledge to tackle pressing public issues. The guide provides a variety of reflection and action activities for anyone trying to improve their own practice and for those interested in making the university a more hospitable, caring, and creative place to nurture public, engaged, and activist scholarship, artmaking, and design.

This interactive workshop will bring IA members together to build new relationships and demonstrate creative ways of working together and changing institutional culture.

Registration required.

All registrants will be sent a PDF workshop guide in advance of the event and participants can sign up to receive a free Organizing Culture Change: Public Scholar Imagination Guide or Public Scholars Conversation Card Deck in the live workshop.*This virtual workshop is open only to students, staff, and faculty at Imagining America Member Institutions and limited to 100 registrants.
