• 2026 Mail Art Project Unveiled

    IA is pleased to share the artistic contributions created by participants from IA member institutions for the 2026 Mail Art Project (MAP). The 2026 Mail Art Project takes inspiration from the 2025 IA National Gathering – Providing Passage: Practicing the Worlds We Want, which invited us to consider how to provide passage for one another and all beings towards a more just, liberatory, and caring future.

    New Host Campus: Penn State

    It is our pleasure to announce that the new host of Imagining America (starting July 1, 2027) is The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State)! After a two-year search process led by the IA National Advisory Board (NAB), where we engaged multiple inspiring campus communities, Penn State emerged as a well prepared and visionary candidate to lead and strengthen the national consortium.

    Imagining America is pleased to announce that our 2026-2027 fellowship programs for graduate and undergraduate students is now open! The PAGE Fellowship applications close on July 17, 2026 (extended deadline), and IA/JGS Fellowship applications close on July 15, 2026.

  • Toolkit: Agreement for a Just Partnership with Indigenous Culture-Bearers

    Imagining America is pleased to launch a toolkit in collaboration with IA regional partner YoloSol Collective. This Agreement for a Just Collaboration with Bearers of Knowledge and Tradition is intended to build trust and address sensitive issues upfront, when working with cultural knowledge. It is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) created by members of YoloSol with Wintun/Maidu/Hupa/Yurok culture-bearer Diana Almendariz.

    Imagining America is proud to announce the 2026 cohort for the IA Regional Collaboratories. IA staff reviewed many excellent submissions and we thank all who shared their visions as part of the call for proposals. We selected eight projects that examine how the work of imagining and practices of imagination are critical to organizing personal, institutional, and societal transformation.

    The 2026 invitation for IA Collaboratories welcomes proposals from IA member campuses to form communities around practices of imagination. This year we are prioritizing proposals from regional clusters of campuses and partners with an intentional effort to support and activate regional engagement in the IA network. Proposals are due March 13.
