The 2026 invitation for IA Collaboratories welcomes proposals from IA member campuses to form communities around practices of imagination. This year we are prioritizing proposals from regional clusters of campuses and partners with an intentional effort to support and activate regional engagement in the IA network. Proposals are due March 13.

IA is pleased to share the artistic contributions created by participants from IA member institutions for the 2025 Mail Art Project (MAP). Inspired by the IA happening Textures of Ecology, this iteration of the participatory art project invited participants to draw grounding and inspiration from the natural world in their creative art-making practices.

In partnership with New Mexico State University and a local Steering Committee, Imagining America created a joyful and restorative IA National Gathering in Las Cruces, New Mexico. From October 3-5, 2025, over 450 registered attendees participated in activities on the theme of Providing Passage: Practicing the Worlds We Want. In this presentation of the IA Collaboratory project ‘Tools for the Undercommons Speaker Series,’ Paisley Rekdal (University of Utah) and Hannah Moushabeck (Interlink Publishing) share field-tested tools that maintain alternate centers of gravity within (and outside of) academia.

Imagining America (IA) is proud to announce the cohort of 2025-2026 PAGE Fellows. PAGE is IA’s network for publicly engaged graduate students in humanities, arts, and design. PAGE enhances the praxis and pedagogy of public scholarship; fosters a national, interdisciplinary community of peers and veteran scholars; and creates opportunities for collaborative knowledge production.
