    This IA Collaboratory is organized by professors Jacqueline Jean Barrios and Harris Kornstein (Public & Applied Humanities, University of Arizona), and each virtual event features guest speakers in a salon-style conversation with attendees. This month’s featured speakers are Brandi Locke (Just Transformations Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow, The Center for Black Digital Research, Penn State University, University Park), Amallia Orman (Student Voice Manager at the NYC Department of Education), and Judy Pryor-Ramirez (Clinical Associate Professor of Public Service, NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and IA National Advisory Board member).

We will work on specific tasks related to data security, surveillance, AI features, and platform migration (for data storage, calendars, emails, etc). As always, there will be time for community sharing. Please bring your devices so we can make this a hands-on workshop, and bring your own tips and best practices for safety/sovereignty when navigating digital spaces and platforms.

We invite you to come with your own questions, suggestions for actions, tools, and resources, so that we may establish a community of practice specifically within the IA community, to collectively transition to technologies and platforms that hold privacy, security, and community connection at their core.
