IA fosters vibrant networks of graduate and undergraduate students from our member institutions. We aim for these networks to be a collaborative, sustainable, and action-oriented conduit for changing academic cultures and practices and strengthening civic life.
In recent years, an increasing number of students have attended IA’s annual conference. Their dynamic participation and critical feedback has increased the role of students in IA’s leadership structure, including the national advisory board. Currently, IA offers two fellowship opportunities, one for graduates and one for undergraduate students.
Publicly Active Graduate Education (PAGE) is Imagining America’s (IA) network for publicly engaged graduate students in humanities, arts, and design. PAGE enhances the praxis and pedagogy of public scholarship; fosters a national, interdisciplinary community of peers and veteran scholars; and creates opportunities for collaborative knowledge production. The PAGE consortium, made up of alumni and allies of the program, promotes opportunities for mentorship and peer support from IA’s network.
The goals of the IA/JGS Fellows Program are to elevate photography and digital media as pathways for undergraduate students to pursue their careers and to make a difference in their communities. The program specifically aims to support students for whom economic and family circumstances render such career pathways particularly challenging.
