Meng-Hsuan Ho, who also goes by Amber, is a communications strategist, cultural researcher, journalist, and fangirl. She is an alumna of Emerson College’s graduate program in Strategic Marketing Communication. Drawing from her experience as an Asian immigrant in the United States, her work explores how popular culture and collective emotions travel across languages, borders, and communities, and how migration shapes identity, belonging, and participation in cultural life. Her professional experience spans higher education, government, arts and cultural organizations, and independent creative projects in Taiwan and the United States.

Amber’s research and creative interests include migration, translation, Asian and Asian American representation, fandom, and the often-unrecognized labor that enables stories to cross borders. She is also interested in how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies shape the visibility, creative agency, and working conditions of women creators from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Her writing for Imagining America examines fangirl communities as spaces of belonging, collective meaning-making, and cross-cultural connection.
